François SIMON is Professor of otorhinolaryngology at Université Paris Cité and consultant at Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades specialising in paediatric otology and endonasal surgery.

François SIMON is first author of the international recommendations for educational surgical videos in ENT, published in 2018 (open access).

He was editor of four special issues of Eur Ann Otorhinolaryngol Head Neck Dis in 2021 on ENT educational surgical videos and is ENT reviewer of CSurgeries. He is the organiser of the educational surgical video competitions at the ESPO (European Society of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology) and IFOS (International Federation of ENT Societies) international congresses. He has supervised two medical theses on the educational value of surgical videos for teaching ear anatomy and otology operating techniques. He is co-author of recommendations from the Académie Nationale de Chirurgie and the IRCAD on the regulation of educational surgical videos in France.

François SIMON is the project leader for the educational surgical video project at Université Paris Cité and secured funding from the IDEX “Innovations pédagogiques” in 2021.
